We believe that in order to design the most effective website, we must first understand your business, the brand, its target audience and its goals. Once we understand your business, we can work with you to produce effective designs, that will present your information in a beautiful and elegant manner.

Good design

Our high design values and quality come as standard, regardless of the client or the budget. Good design ensures that your website can be used, developed, maintained and hosted easily.

Some of the standard things we will consider during the design process are:

• Complying with relevant legislation, e.g. The Disability Discrimination Act.
• Cross browser compatibility, e.g. Internet Explorer (versions 4 through 7), Mozilla Firefox, Apple Safari, Konqueror, Lynx, etc.
• Cross platform compatibility, e.g. Windows 98, Windows XP, Windows Vista, Mac OS 9, Mac OS X, Linux, Mobile phones, PDAs, etc.
• Screen resolution, e.g. 800 x 600, 1024 x 768
• Screen aspect ratio, wide-aspect ratio screens are becoming increasingly popular

Expectations

We also think it is vital we manage your expectations regarding what can and cannot be achieved in web based designs. There are similarities between print designs and web designs, but there are important differences. The most important being: the web was not designed with fine page layout in mind. It is inevitable that some visitors to your website will not see exactly what you intended. We will ensure your website degrades gracefully when users visit using older Internet browsers.

Visitors to you website may come from your local area, using primarily a single browser, or they may come from all over the world, using a wide variety of browsers, and a wide variety of operating systems.

Our best suggestion is that, within reason, you should try to be as accepting as possible in the design of your website – your visitors will be thankful. While you may not consider some of these aspects important, you can be sure that some of your visitors will.
